Abstract

As semiconductor technology continues to evolve, power electronic devices such as power MOSFET, IGBT, GTO are becoming more and more widely used in modern power system. And the corresponding requirements of simulation models for power electronic devices are also becoming increasingly higher. The introduction of the power electronic device models are made in the mass in this paper. According to the modeling approach models are divided into three types, physical model, circuit model and function model. The advantages and disadvantages of different devices' model and their application in different occasions are compared in detail. Good foundation has been laid for power electronic devices' in-depth theoretical study and practical application in this paper.
