Abstract

The trend of using e-schoolbag in blended learning environment in basic education in China is increasing but the impact on academic performance is yet to be verified. In this paper, we conducted a preliminary review through expert interview and a quantitative analysis on e-schoolbag usage against the Primary Chinese performance in a primary school. The finding shows that the usage pattern of e-schoolbag on Primary Chinese can be treated as a direct indicator of learning behavior which in turns shows the learning attitudes including active learning and engaged learning. These learning attitudes affect the academic performance in a positive way. It also highlighted the importance of incorporating proper learning activity design when using e-schoolbag.
