Summary

Introduction

This review considers more than 400 articles published from 1990 to 2016. Among them, researches from the United States account for 25% which is leading the studies of hydrostatic bearings. Some researchers tried to introrical coordinates, and many scholars calculated the duce different types of surface textures to improve its pressure distribution and load-carrying capacity of it supporting performance because a flat bearing surface is easy to be machined. The bearing modeling or its improvement (32%) and surface texture introduction (31%) are distributed almost ; other researches refer to bearing optimization and the study of dynamic characteristics (Figure 13).
