Abstract
Blood products comprising whole blood, red cells, components (labile products) and pharmaceutically derived medicinal products (albumin, immunoglobulins, factor concentrate, platelet derived microparticle) are critical in preventing adverse outcomes in Obstetric and Gynaecological emergencies. However blood products are a scarce resource, which the majority of women in Zimbabwe may fail to access in times of emergencies if not used rationally.
