Abstract

Background: Due to the complex topography of the external ear, reconstruction following tumour excision can prove testing to the surgeon. Concerns over repair of the resultant surgical defect may compromise full clearance. There are many different surgical techniques described but the helical rim advancement remains the most adaptable and reliable method producing a near normally shaped ear, albeit smaller.
