Abstract

A review is presented on control and localization for mobile sensor networks and its recent application. Large numbers of mobile robots or mobile vehicles can consist of mobile sensor networks through ad hoc communication. The mobile sensor networks are the distributed collection of nodes, each of which has sensing, computation, communication and locomotion capabilities. Mobility gives the sensor networks some obvious significance and potentials while arise some new challenges. In the paper, emphasized on mobility of sensor networks, we summary the recent research with respect to mobile sensor networks: topology control, coverage control and localization. And some new challenges and future directions are also illustrated in the paper
