Abstract

The world is facing the arduous responsibility and significant challenge of energy conservation and emission reduction. China plays a significant and irreplaceable role in leading the global emissions reduction, and China's low-carbon energy transformation will bring substantial and universal benefits to China and the world. Some institutions and scholars have studied the low-carbon pathway of China's energy under multiple scenarios, such as carbon neutrality, 2°C target, and 1.5°C target. For this reason, this paper provides a review of China's low-carbon energy development pathways. The research methods, boundary conditions, and transformation pathways in 13 related reports/papers are compared in detail, which can provide an essential reference for the research of China's low-carbon development pathway.
