Abstract
Constructional, ideomotor and ideational apraxia are described in order to demonstrate their distinguishing characteristics. Tests were constructed to be able to distinguish between constructional apraxia and spatial problems in patients suffering from a CVA. The results of evaluating 15 right hemisphere CVA patients on the tests were analysed to determine the patient's problem. The test scores and test taking behaviour of two patients are presented to demonstrate that the difference between constructional apraxia and spatial problems cannot be diagnosed through test scores alone. Further, some of the effects of apraxia on the everyday function of the patient is described.
