Abstract

Abstract With the development of organic electronics, several novel effects on the charge transport performance have been found. Among these effects, the polaron effect is deemed to the most import effect dominating the charge transport property in organic semiconductors. The purpose of this review is to provide a theoretical description of the polaron dependence of charge transport and to highlight the most essential results obtained in organic semiconductors. Furthermore, some special attentions are devoted to the polaron activation energy, disorder effect, temperature, carrier concentration and electric field dependences of the charge transport performance under polaron effect.
