Abstract

Purpose: It is well established that patients with early breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy or those with active cancer on treatment are at risk of venous thromboembolic disease (VTE) [1] and recurrent VTE events [2]. In this retrospective analysis, we aimed to ascertain if local guidelines for the treatment of VTE events are effective in patients with metastatic breast cancer, in preventing recurrent VTE events.
