Abstract

Hydrophilic polymer and potassium ferrate (HPPF) is a commercially available first-aid hemostatic product (WoundSeal; Biolife LLC). The hydrophilic polymer dehydrates blood to stop active bleeding, and potassium ferrate binds blood proteins to form a barrier-like seal.1 Hemostatic agents such as HPPF are not routinely used clinically in postskin biopsy settings.
