Methods We inserted a catheter subcutaneously into the periumbilical tissue, calculated the total daily dose of morphine, selected a Baxter pump to continually administer morphine according to the speed of infusion. We adjusted the dosage of morphine use based on the changes in pain level. Results The total response rate for pain relief was 100%. 11 of the 15 patients(73.3%)had complete relief and the remaining 4(26.7%)had partial relief.
