Abstract In the article “The Audible Future: Reimagining the Role of Sound Archives and Sound Repatriation in Uganda,” (Ethnomusicology 56/2) Sylvia Nannyonga-Tamusuza and Andrew Weintraub appear to be taking Klaus Wachsmann to task for the apparent cavalier treatment of one of his first informants and moreover for a lack of consideration of the needs and rights of the people of Uganda in relation to the 1500+ sound recordings he made during his many years of work there.
