Abstract

In the rescue of natural disasters such as earthquake and mud-rock flow, it is not easy to find the survivors buried under the ruins, and special patients with large areas of skin burns and scald are not suitable to use the traditional way to obtain their breathing and heartbeat information. This paper proposes an UWB radar system based detection algorithm for respiratory and heartbeat signals, and applies UWB technology to the radar system to realize non-contact human respiratory and heartbeat signals detection. As the echo signal of radar contains strong external noise, and the energy of human respiration and heartbeat signal is small, in order to obtain useful information, the clutter processing of echo signal and the extraction of target respiration and heartbeat signal are very important. This paper focuses on the extraction technology of respiration and heartbeat signal from echo signal. After clutter removal of the echo signal, FFT is made along the distance to collect signal energy. Finally, it is iteratively processed by weighted sparse reconstruction algorithm. After multiple iterations, target respiration and heartbeat signal is successfully extracted. The simulation results show that this method can accurately extract the target respiration and heartbeat signal, and the complexity of the algorithm is low.
