Abstract

This letter introduces a resistor-free $N$ -way power divider (PD) having simultaneous output matching and output isolation characteristics. By properly designing the parameters of the proposed isolation network, an equivalent grounded resistor is obtained under odd-mode excitation of the output ports. Based on this characteristic, the proposed $N$ -way PD can then achieve output matching and isolation between the output ports. To verify it, the design of a three-way resistor-free PD structure is given. At the operating frequency, the measured input return loss and insertion loss are 47 and 5.18 dB with corresponding output reflection and isolation coefficients less than −15 dB.
