Abstract

We examine, in this paper, how a non-zero source impedance and a finite load impedance affect the response characteristics of the well-known parallel-T RC null network. In the process, by taking the complement of the null filter, it is shown that the two additional impedances help in producing a band-pass characteristic with over unity gain in a certain range of frequencies. A comprehensive step-by-step analysis is carried out for both configurations, which is followed by simulation. The special case of infinite load impedance is also considered, along with results of simulation, which also show the same feature of over unity gain.
