Abstract
A model is described in which service programs for handicapped children can be transformed into self contained research-service units. It is suggested that both research and service goals can be achieved concurrently and more economically within this model and that the research component is likely to enhance the effectiveness of the service component as well. The essential characteristics of this approach consist of an intensive individual analysis of each child's behavior and the application of multiple baseline procedures to most aspects of program development.
