Abstract
This paper investigates the equilibrium guided proportion problem under multi-criteria route guidance systems. Three criteria, travel time, travel cost and travel time reliability are considered simultaneously. We postulate that there are two classes of drivers on a specific day, drivers equipped and unequipped with advanced traveler information system (ATIS). Generally, drivers equipped with ATIS may not always find the optimal route as a result of imperfect information service, thus, all two classes of travelers make their route choices in a logit-based stochastic manner, but with different degree of uncertainty of travel disutility on the road network. By supposing that the guided proportion of ATIS is an increasing function of the average travel disutility saving derived from ATIS service, this paper determines the equilibrium guided proportion of ATIS with the mixed stochastic user equilibrium (SUE) modeling approach and a heuristic solution procedure.
