Abstract

The problem of uncertainty propagation is widely found in practical engineering problems. Most of the existing research methods have problems in accuracy and efficiency in practical engineering problems. Thus, a new method to study the problem of uncertainty propagation is proposed. Firstly, an approximate numerical method combined with the Bootstrap method is used to calculate the statistical moments of each order of the response variable, and then the method based on the maximum entropy principle is used to solve the probability density function. In this paper, a numerical example and an example of the calculation of the probability density function of natural frequency of a barrel are given and compared with the Monte Carlo simulation method to show the advantages of this method in the problem of uncertainty propagation, and the effectiveness of this method is verified.
