Abstract

Service composition is defined as the process of creating a new service by combining several services to increase service value and fulfill more complex tasks in the form of a composite service. There are several activities conducted to produce composite services, include decomposing user requirement, discovering related services, selecting the optimum services and executing new (composite) service. Developing service oriented software in service computing terminology used service composition as its main method. Service composition is affected by service computing concepts and computing technology. The development of computing technology drives the changes in traditional service composition so that not only provides composite services according to requests from users, but must be able to meet the latest computing technology.. The latest computing technology that influences the service composition namely mobile computing, cloud computing, big data, and social computing. Today, mobile computing and cloud computing are the computing technologies that are closest to users. This paper analyzes the results of research to create services on the cellular and cloud computing domains that have been published in 2015–2018. The results of the study were then identified to find opportunities for service composition research on the two computational technologies in question.
