Abstract

Intelligent artificial limb is a device to help the disabled to do some daily activities. However, existing artificial limbs usually cause more mental fatigue to user, which is still some gaps for wide application. It is necessary to study how much metal fatigue people have, during the process they use an intelligent artificial limb. Since that phenomenon of mental fatigue relates to the oxygen saturation of brain, in this paper, a method combing the subjective and objective situation which is based on the change of oxygen saturation observed by near infrared spectrum technique is proposed. The subjective data are got by the analysis of the mental fatigue model based on NASA-TLX. After the analysis of the both sides, we find that the problem of metal fatigue is existing while using an intelligent artificial limb.
