Abstract

The construction of a repulsion Knudsen cell and its application to the determination of molecular mass and the molecular radii ratio (rc/ra) are described. The investigation of arsenolite and claudetite (polymorphic forms of As III oxide) led to higher average molecular masses for claudetite and a radii ratio of 1.17. Although the Knudsen cell method in general does not operate with sufficient accuracy, it was possible to detect an oligomerisation effect.
