Abstract

A representation for a general class of non-linear multivariable systems with feedback is introduced ; the structure of a multivariable system as an interconnection of scalar feedback systems is emphasized. The representation is used as a basis for obtaining new conditions which characterize the property of (zero input) stability for multi-variable systems. Since the resulting conditions determine rather explicit relationships between the variables defining the system they can be used in formulating design procedures.
