Abstract

Abstract Irradiation of a solution of ethanol containing Diels–Alder cycloadducts and 10–20% (by volume) triethylamine at 300 nm furnishes quantitative yield (>90%) of corresponding exo isomers. A probable mechanism based on photo-induced electron transfer (PET) has been described.
