Abstract. A remarkable new range extension of the subtropical Mexican species Brachymenium vinosulum is reported from Wyoming. The species was found on travertine terraces around the geothermal springs of Thermopolis' Hot Springs State Park in north central Wyoming. This finding represents the first state record and the northernmost occurrence of this subtropical species yet reported for North America and extends the known range northward by approximately 400 kilometers. B. vinosulum is recommended as a species of conservation concern in Wyoming.
