Abstract

To study the kinetic behaviour of electrons in laser-plasma interaction with the consideration of Coulomb collisions, a modified UGKS(unified gas-kinetic scheme) is proposed to solve the collisional Vlasov Maxwell equations for stimulated Raman scattering in two dimension. Based on Strang splitting scheme, the equation is divided into two parts, the transport-collision one and acceleration one. The transport-collision part is solved by a modified UGKS with relativistic effect, the acceleration part is solved by semi-Lagrangian scheme, and the Maxwell equations is discretized by leap-frog scheme. Quadratic B-spline reconstruction is used in the calculation of numerical flux to achieve high order accuracy in space. Validity is tested by a series of typical problems, including the stimulated Raman scattering.
