Abstract

With the advancement of communication and media technologies, the scope of research is also widening continually. In today’s media world, there exist numerous different applications and devices which facilitate fast and smooth transmission of information of any type. With the advent of smart phones and fast image capturing technologies, capturing and storing of images has become a very common activity. Also, the transmission or sharing of images, between two mobile devices via social media is trending high and has become the part of daily lifestyle. Various applications facilitate the quality transmission of images. Different applications follow different compression and transmission protocols and hence affect the quality of the images on sharing. In this paper, variation in the size and quality of images while their transmission using different mobile applications has been comparatively studied w.r.t. primary, secondary and few other tertiary colors using a mobile application viz. Portfolio RAW Photo Manager. The results are depicted to justify the variations.
