Abstract

As "invisible minorities" lesbians and gay men often experience significant stress and isolation. Although this population typically benefits form group counseling and support, little has been published on counseling groups for lesbians or gay men on college campuses. A counseling center group for lesbians was conducted which focused on relationships. Utilizing a pre-and post-group selfreport instrument, members assessed desired areas for growth. This article addresses issues unique to this group, e.g., leader/member lack of normative role models, social relationships among members, members' varying stages of lesbian identity development, nad the impact of internalized homophobia.
