Abstract

Relationship between Efficiency and Efficacy in Volleyball Skills. The features of motor skills in volleyball must focus on the quality of the technical skill's performance, not disclosing the functional structure of the game. The main goal of this study was to determine the functional degree of dependence between efficiency and efficacy on jumping overhead pass (attack) and forearm pass (floor defense), in tasks with different complexity. The subjects were 21 novice female players aged 13 to 14 years old. For two skills 1680 motor responses were analyzed in two assessment time points with an interval of two months. Multiple regression was used to analyze the results. The present study demonstrated that not all of the efficiency indicators had the same degree of importance in the efficacy results. Also, the demands required by the evaluation task interfered with the dependence relationship between the efficiency and efficacy indicators.
