Abstract

Adolescence is a phase marked by physical, behavioral, and psychosocial changes. In it, the formation of identity occurs, which makes it a very complicated phase, in which the individual is very vulnerable to opinions and criticism. The virtual world is a reality for teenagers all over the world, and a consequence of this is the high risk for developing eating disorders. In this sense, the present article aimed to relate issues related to the media as an inducer of dangerous eating behaviors. More specifically, two similar cases with this same cause were studied, and observed how the patterns imposed by the networks act in the formation of adolescent body image, altering their nutritional choices and resulting in eating disorders several times.
