Abstract

Conventional charge pumping circuits usually have poor output characteristics for low-voltage applications. In this paper, a low-voltage charge pump circuit with wide current driving capability is proposed. By introducing clock-boosting technique to over drive the charge transfer switches and pulse-skipping technique to regulate the output voltage, the new design leads to a better actual conversion ratio and wider current driving capability with less number of stages. In particular, at 0.3 V supply voltage and 1.1 V output voltage, the output current of the present circuit is three times greater than the conventional ones.
