Abstract

Atherosclerosis is an important pathogensis in the stable plaque that causes stable angina. The assessment of stable angina in patients is difficult. NICE Guidelines 95 have been present since 2010 and adopt a pre-test probability score based on age, gender, risk factors and history to assess risk for significant coronary artery disease. The ESC guidelines are more recent and are based on fewer variables. We look at 1991 patients seen in the Rapid Access Chest Pain clinics and compare the 2 guidelines.
