A Reflection on Governance of Thailand under COVID-19 Pandemic

Abstract

Purpose: Based on several difficulties encountered in Thailand, the study aims to reflect the current methods and methods of the Thai government to control COVID-19. The essential background is that the coronavirus cannot be wholly controlled worldwide; many countries have failed to combat the epidemic fully. As one of the countries that rely on tourism, Thailand has adopted mainstream protection measures, and the country has its unique aspects of controlling the epidemic. Characteristics. To sum up, Thailand has its characteristics. Control the success and failure of COVID-19; therefore, researchers want to reflect and contribute inspiration to pandemic governance. Method: Methodologically, the researcher conducted an integrated literature review as the research method to synthesize related kinds of literature about public value, public administration, and governance. Then, the researcher reflectively and comparatively analyzed materials searched for online information and personal observation in the nation. Comprehensively, the researcher combinates all findings with the ways to make academic contributions in the public value and administration field. Results: By synthesizing works of literature, the researcher disclosed what happened in Thailand and the significant problems under the pandemic past year, such as continued increasing confirmed cases, economic recessions, etc. Then, the researcher indicated what measures of COVID-19 the nation did past year and this year, such as what protection measures Thailand is doing and how Thailand recovered its economic sections. Finally, the researcher conducted a comparative analysis to reflect on what right and wrong the nation s controlling measures under COVID-19. Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic spread around the world today. It is a bigger major problem for governments and the public; there were negative influences in the daily life of everyone. The pandemic is almost running out of public confidence and patience under strict restrictions by most governments around global nowadays. However, Thailand, as a country with a good performance regarding COVID-19 controlled before one year, recently, there are rapid changes in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic, for such unstable bound up and down, controlling it as public and governments engagement together.
