Abstract
四国北西部に分布する下部-中部中新統久万層群の分布域の南西部で“下坂場峠層”と“富重層”の地質調査をおこない，その結果をもとに久万層群の層序を再検討した．久万層群は下位で主に三波川変成岩類の砕屑物からなる古岩屋層と，上位で主に砂岩や花崗岩の砕屑物からなる明神層とで構成される．“下坂場峠層”はその岩相や推定される堆積年代から，古岩屋層の一部であると考えられる．“富重層”が久万層群の最上部を構成するという従来の層序は疑わしい．また，久万層群は下部始新統ひわだ峠層と不整合関係にあることが明らかになった．
