Abstract

The searching complexity of a vector quantizer and its bit rate can simultaneously be reduced by taking care of the correlation in the channel symbols issued from the vector quantizer. The simulation results of our reduced search vector quantizer using both the Gauss Markov and speech inputs are promising. The price paid for the reduction in complexity and rate is an addition of a ROM storage.
