Photometric and Spectroscopic Catalog Ellingson, E. ; Yee, H. K. C. Abstract A catalog of photometric and spectroscopic observations of faint galaxies in the fields of seven quasars with 0.4 < z < 0.6 is presented. The quasar sample was chosen based on previous imaging results indicating that they are situated in clusters of galaxies of Abell richness class 1 or greater. The observations were made using the MARLIN/LAMA multiobject spectroscopic system at the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope. The data include photometry of all objects in fields of approximately 6' X 4' around each quasar with completeness limits of ~23.5 mag in both Gunn r and g. The total defined field size is 143 arcmin^2^. Low-resolution spectra of 388 objects were obtained, yielding a total of 234 redshifts in these fields with z up to ~0.7. Of these, 64 are considered to be associated with the quasars. Completeness limits for successful spectroscopic identification of galaxies in the defined field are 78% for those galaxies brighter than r = 21.5 mag observed spectroscopically, and 49% overall. Subsequent papers will address the physical properties of the cluster galaxies associated with quasars, and of the field galaxies.
