Abstract

Compared to the existing volume CT, reverse geometry based volume CT (RGVCT) has a high SNR projections data and a flexible imaging geometry for an exact reconstruction. Here, the authors present a novel orthogonal circle-and-arc orbit (OCAO) for cone-beam CT (CBCT) and its completeness condition, and then they put forward a flexible orthogonal circle-and-arcs orbit for RGVCT and its completeness condition. By use of the equivalence relation between the reverse imaging geometry and the traditional imaging geometry, the authors give a reconstruction algorithm for RGVCT.
