Abstract

In this paper, digital filtering techniques using the Wavelet Transform are proposed to monitor various power quality disturbances. Different from those Fourier-based Transforms, the Wavelet Transform is more efficient in detecting power quality disturbances, because the Wavelet Transform provides time information in addition to frequency information. The detection method is tested through the simulation of various disturba'lces, including voltage sags, voltage swells and interruptions. For real time detection of power quality disturbances, the monitorin system is implemented. And the obtained results are given
