A rare complication of radiotherapy

Abstract

You have, in treatment, a 50-year-old man with a history ofsquamous cell carcinoma of the piriform sinus, initially clas-sified as T3N0M0 and managed by induction chemotherapyfollowed by radiochemotherapy. One year later, he under-went total pharyngolaryngectomy with ipsilateral cervicallymph node salvage dissection, which was considered com-plete for both tumor and nodes.The patient is symptom-free. Clinical examination is nor-mal.
