Abstract

This 12-year-old boy presented with a one week history of neck pain, progressive inability to walk, and numbness of both hands. He had also experienced transient neck pain two months earlier without weakness. Examination revealed a conscious and oriented child with clinical neurological localization to the C5, 6, 7 spinal segments with cervical pain. Magnetic resonance imaging of the cervical spine showed a well-defined cystic lesion without contrast enhancement (Figure).
