Abstract

A 71-year-old woman with newly diagnosed inferior vena cava leiomyosarcoma received a port catheter for chemotherapy. Resistance was noticed during the procedure. The chest radiograph showed that the catheter was kinked in clavicular region (Figure 1). There was no history of previous implantation of central venous catheter, a pacemaker, trauma, or surgery. Chest computed tomography demonstrated that episternal ossicles surrounded by excessive soft tissue (Figure 2, arrow) narrowed the space where the left brachiocephalic vein passed through and caused severe stenosis of the left brachiocephalic vein (Figure 2, arrowhead).
