A rare case of Steven’s-Johnson Syndrome with overt hepatitis

Abstract

Stevenrsquos- Johnson syndrome SJS is a severe muco-cutaneous reaction precipitated mostly by medications. It affects skin and mucous membranes. In this era of modern medicine a thorough knowledge of drug reaction will be helpful for early identification and effective patient management. The practice of poly-pharmacy has increased the incidence of drug reaction cases. Overt hepatitis is documented in only 10 cases of toxic epidermal necrolysis and rarely in Stevenrsquos -Johnson syndrome. We report a case of SJS with frank hepatitisits presentation and multidisciplinary management.
