Abstract

Benzohydrazides (2a-g) were synthesized starting from iminoester hydrochlorides and benzhydrazide. The treatment of compounds 2a-g with phenylacyl bromide derivatives gave N-[2-(alkyl/aryl)-4-phenyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl] benzamides. The synthetic protocol was performed under microwave irradiation and the lowest quantity of the solvent was used to obtain the best green protocol. This method has been found to be more efficient than others in terms of green chemistry. Keywords: Acetamidrazone, amide hydrazone, benzamide, benzhydrazide, catalyst-free, hydrazide imide, imidazole, iminoester hydrochloride, green chemistry, microwave irradiation, phenylacyl bromide.
