Abstract
The hydrometer method was tested and adapted for particle size determination of cement. It proved to be a rapid, economical quantitative means of deriving the continuous particle size distribution over the range ⩾ 72 μm to ⩽ 2 μm. The simplicity of the method makes it a viable adaptation for quality control laboratories and for routine determinations. Very good agreement is obtained when the results of this method are compared with those of the Sedigraph and air-jet sieve method with Alpine air classifier.
