Abstract

AbstractA rapid method for the determination of sulphur dioxide in dehydrated cabbage, carrot, peas and potato, based on the well‐established Monier Williams distillation technique, is described. Distillation time is reduced to 5 min and sulphur dioxide in the distillate is determined colorimetrically. Recoveries of the additive were comparable with those by the conventional distillation technique.
