Abstract
A practical and highly efficient technique using concave folded glass fiber paper filter disks has been developed for the isolation and collection of 3-indoleacetic acid from a gas chromatography column. The glass fiber paper filter disks were found to be superior to glass wool as a cold trap packing medium. The described procedure can be readily adapted for routine laboratory analysis. Trapping efficiencies as high as 97% may be obtained using the Packard Fraction Collector, mocel 852, operating at 0°C.
