Abstract
A new, highly interactive, parameter-based aircraft modeler has been developed for use in conceptual design. The Rapid Aircraft Modeler (RAM), was developed to generate detailed 3-D geometric models quickly and easily. The models allow a visual inspection of the geometry parameters used in the conceptual aircraft design and optimization process. Fast and accurate geometry modeling also allows the designer to use more complex analysis methods earlier in the design process and reduces reliance on empiricism in conceptual design.
