Abstract

Abstract The method described, a modification of Grocott's and Jones' methods for glomerular basement membranes, uses microwave energy as the initial heat source. Tissue sections are immersed in a dilute methenamine-silver solution in a microwave to promote rapid deposition of metallic silver, then transferred to a conventional oven for even, consistent, and reliable staining of tissue structures.
