Abstract

Digital Range Tracking system is used in Radars because of its inherent advantages over the conventional analogue system using gears, servomotors and variable phase condenser. Range balance or error detector which is used to detect the difference between the past and the present position, forms the heart of an automatic range tracking unit. The principle of Digital Range Tracking system is explained and the Design and Operation of the Range Balance unit is discussed. The experimental results are given.
