Abstract

OBJECTIVE: Optimal culture conditions are crucial for embryonic development and blastocyst formation in IVF. Studies on the metabolism of preimplantation cleaving embryos enabled the formulation of different culture media capable of sustaining normal development. In this context, sequential media culture systems were designed to address the changing requirements of the developing embryo at different stages. In the present study, we have compared the efficacy of two commercially available media systems: sequential complete P-1 Medium (Irvine Scientific) and non-sequential Single Step Medium (SSM) (Irvine Scientific) on embryo development and morphology.
